ABOUT ME
I have always had a passion for design I loved it so much that I decided to go to collage and study Graphic Design. I loved being surrounded by other creative people and learning new things and being able to just plain CREATE. After I graduated collage I moved back home and started freelancing, unfortunately making a living freelancing in my small town wasn't realistic and I had to find another job.
I found an ad in the paper for a Administrative Assistant position at a local grade school and they wanted someone that could work with basic office programs and had experience in working with websites. I thought it sounded right up my alley. I have now worked for this district for going on 12 years+ and love what I do and the people that I work with.
A few years ago our district ran into a situation where they needed help in the Art department. It was just a temporary thing so I volunteered to help out just so the kids wouldn't loose their Art time. Little did I know, this "temporary thing" would turn into so much more.
They say that unexpected things can happen to us at anytime and I am so thankful that it did. I didn't realize until I started teaching Art that I missed Art so much. I had shut it out of my mind for so long that I felt like I didn't have a passion for anything anymore. What I was failing to see is that designing is my passion. It is what I was born to do!
I never dreamed in a million years that I would end up where I am now. Standing in front of a classroom of little kids teaching Art. Their imaginations and creative ideas inspire me and I encourage them everyday to never stop thinking outside the box and to never compare themselves to anyone else and just be them. Be them at everything that they do, including how they create.
None of this however was easy. I had a very hard time figuring out how the heck I was going to teach. I didn't have much to go off of and spent a lot of time and had to do a lot of research to get where I am now. (which is still in the beginning stages). I decided to CREATE this website/blog so I can document not only what my classes are working on, but any other resources that I find (what works for me and what doesn't) and share them with others.
I hope you find some kind of inspiration by visiting my site and enjoyed my story.
Thank you for visiting,
Mrs. Krolak
