Human Form & Carl

I introduced my second grade class to a drawing mannequin today. They seriously thought it was the coolest thing ever. Then the question came... what is his name?

As I have mentioned in other posts I coordinate with the second grade teacher with the classes scholastic news articles and come up with an art project. So, this weeks project was Ballet.

We talked about Edgar Degas and the human form. I then showed them Carl and showed how to make their simple stick figures a step closure to reality. Circles and rectangles everyone!

I had some inspiration for their project from a pin that I found on Pinterest. I am so happy how their projects turned out!
